Civil Lawsuits Without Tears – The Basics of Representing Yourself In Court @ Kent Library (KCLS)

Representing yourself in court is a complicated process and can be overwhelming. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of the civil lawsuit process with a focus on court rules, court procedures, forms, scheduling, and deadlines. Attendees will be granted access to a password protected website with additional information and resources, including the most commonly used civil litigation forms.

This class does not cover immigration proceedings or criminal proceedings such as DUI or felony and misdemeanor offenses.

*Online Registration is Required!*  If you don’t have a computer at home, you may visit KCLL or any SPL or KCLS branch to register using one of their public computers.

Advanced Workshop for Self-Represented Litigants

This advanced workshop is designed for those who have attended Civil Lawsuits without Tears: The Basics of Representing Yourself in Court or those who need more information on the process for drafting, filing, and responding to motions and orders. In this workshop you will learn about the purpose, content, format and calendaring of motions along with the court rules governing them. Attendees will be granted access to a password protected website with additional information including sample motions & orders, blank motions & orders and instructions.
